At the workshop, we will temporarily transform our green lab into PAPLab, a workshop for handmade paper production. In this workshop, we will create paper from an exotic plant, Japanese mulberry. Each participant will be able to make their own sheet of paper following the principle of "do it yourself". Handmade paper is a particularly beautiful choice for crafting invitations for special occasions.

During the workshop, we will learn about the traditional, manual papermaking process and the profession of a master papermaker. We will also explore why preserving cultural heritage is important and learn more about the concept of circular economy. In the field of handmade paper production, a master is an expert in professional manual papermaking. This means that through proper grinding of raw materials and correct pulp extraction on the screen, with the help of acquired feeling and experience, they produce sheets of precisely determined weight, mix the right shade of color, create sheets that are equally thick throughout the surface, make watermarks, etc.

The workshop is suitable for children aged 6 and above.

About the mentors:

A master and an assistant master will be present at the workshop.
