Rog Design Days 2026: More Than Us
Rog Design Days is an international festival organized by Center Rog that each year, through a new central theme, opens up current questions in design, creativity, and social change. This year’s theme, More Than Us, invites us to shift our perspective: from design in which humans are the sole point of reference, to reflecting on a world in which we are part of a broader network of relationships with other beings, environments, materials, and technologies.
From 23 to 27 November 2026, three interconnected festival segments will take place at Center Rog: Rog Kreaton, a design sprint for young creatives; Rog Forum, a conference of partner organizations; and Rog Expo, an exhibition of Center Rog’s annual production. The festival will bring together creation, prototyping, discussion, and knowledge exchange, while opening up space for encounters and new perspectives on design as a practice of care, coexistence, and responsibility.

A word from the curator
Every November in Ljubljana, Rog Design Days bring together leading international creatives, thought leaders, activists, and social innovators. Over the course of a week filled with making, bold idea exchange, and informal gatherings, a distinct community takes shape—one that shares values, co-creates change, and strives to address pressing challenges through concrete action, and ultimately to resolve them.
This year, we take a step further and ask what happens when the human is no longer at the centre of design. Perhaps something akin to what astronauts experience when they look at the Earth from space: a cognitive shift that reveals how deeply interconnected we are—with one another, with other species, and with the planet that makes our lives possible.
While human-centred design has brought significant improvements to our species, it has also narrowed our perspective. By focusing on the human, we have learned not to see the bigger picture. The billions of animals, plants, and ecosystems that sustain our lives are often understood merely as raw materials or resources available for our use. This dissociation is not neutral; it underpins the design of entire industries. It allows exploitation to appear self-evident.
At a time when the world is fracturing under the pressure of ecological crises, technological disruptions, and increasingly tense geopolitical relations, questions of responsibility, power, and interdependence are becoming ever more urgent. This is why we turn toward practices grounded in care and coexistence, and toward design that situates humans within a network of relationships with other beings and environments.
Through themes such as speculative design, cruelty-free design, artificial intelligence, biodiversity, gender, ecofeminism, and multispecies design, this year’s Rog Design Days explore how design can move beyond established paradigms and respond more empathetically to the complexity of our shared living space.
Over the course of one week, the programme will connect three formats of co-creation, exchange, and reflection. Rog Kreaton brings together 25 young designers who, in an intensive two-day process, prototype responses to current challenges. Rog Expo presents an exhibition of annual production by local and guest creators, while Rog Forum opens a space for in-depth dialogue with international organisations in the fields of design, research, and activism.
Save the dates: from 23 to 27 November 2026, a week of creativity, inspiring ideas, and new friendships awaits.
