Glass Christmas Ornaments

Would you like to make Christmas ornaments? In the glass Christmas ornament making workshop, you will encounter the fusion technique. You will cut, grind, and assemble glass into the desired shape and place it in the kiln. The glass pieces will melt into one during firing, creating ornaments that you can use to decorate the Christmas tree.

The program is intended for adolescents between 12 and 15 years old, promoting creativity and manual skills. It allows participants to explore glass as a medium for creation, learn cold glass processing (cutting, grinding), become familiar with the fusion technique, and understand the techniques of applying colored frit and pigments to glass.

The workshop will be led by mentors Brigita Gantar and Nika Šantej. Brigita is the head of the glass-ceramics lab at the new Center Rog, graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana in 2021. She was a demonstrator in the field of Unique Design in glass-related subjects during her studies. Nika completed her undergraduate studies in unique design at ALUO.
