Clay Wheel Throwing for Kids (in Slovenian)

We invite all children who love working with clay and want to learn something new to join a workshop where they can sit at the pottery wheel for the first time and, under the guidance of experienced mentors, explore the world of clay throwing.

Through play and exploration, children will learn how to knead clay, how to place and center it on the wheel, how to shape it with their hands, and why even clumsiness and “failed” pieces can be the most fun part of the creative process.

Each child will have the opportunity to create their own unique piece. If something interesting is made, the ceramic lab mentors will fire and glaze the work. Finished pieces will be ready for pickup approximately 3 weeks after the workshop.

This workshop is suitable for children from 8 to 12 years old. Prior experience are not needed, all they need is a desire to create.

About the mentors:

The workshop will be led by Brigita Gantar, mentor and head of the glass-ceramics lab.

Participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time in the entrance lobby of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers, which will be shown to you by the mentor. Please do not be late, as late arrivals disrupt the workflow. In case of delay, access to the lab cannot be guaranteed.

The program will be conducted in Slovene, unless stated otherwise.

If the workshop is canceled, you will be notified two days before the scheduled start.

If you cannot attend, fees are non-refundable and dates cannot be changed. However, participation may be transferred to another person; please notify us at least 24 hours in advance via email: steklokeramika@center-rog.si
