Summer Community Kitchen: Slovenian Dishes (Programme in English)

This summer, the programme will also open to international visitors to Ljubljana, foreign residents, exchange students, and everyone who understands English and would like to learn about Slovenian dishes through cooking together.

The summer edition of Community Kitchen will focus on Slovenian food. In a hands-on workshop, participants will prepare selected recipes together, learn about local ingredients and cooking techniques, and sit down at the table to share the meal at the end.

At the workshops, we will prepare three traditional dishes that reflect the diversity of Slovenia’s culinary landscape: savoury cottage cheese štruklji, ričet — a hearty stew made from barley, legumes, and vegetables — and sweet štruklji with raisins and butter-toasted breadcrumbs.

The workshops will be held in English and are intended for everyone who would like to get to know Slovenian cuisine through cooking together, not only as restaurant guests.

At each workshop, registered participants will be joined by people from the Center Rog community—employees, as well as groups and individuals who collaborate with us.
