Preparatory Workshop for Neighbours’ Day: Let’s Brew Kombucha (in Slovenian)

On the occasion of the upcoming Neighbours’ Day, celebrated on the first Saturday in June, we invite you to a preparatory workshop in the Green Lab.

A refreshing kombucha will be the perfect companion for a warm June Saturday — and you can help us prepare it. Join us in the Green Lab and learn how to brew this delicious and healthy drink.

During the workshop, we will explore the full process of making kombucha — a refreshing fermented beverage rich in probiotics and other beneficial compounds. Kombucha is made from sweetened tea fermented by a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY). We will focus on each step of the process, take care of our SCOBY culture, and discuss different flavours and additives that can be used.

At the first session, we will prepare the primary fermentation, and at the second session, the secondary fermentation.

Everyone attending any of the workshop sessions will be able to take home a starter culture for brewing kombucha at home. The sessions will take place:

• Wednesday, 13 May 2026, 17:00–19:00
• Monday, 1 June 2026, 17:00–19:00

Participants should arrive 15 minutes before the start of the programme in the entrance lobby of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers, which will be shown to you by the mentor. Please do not be late, as this disrupts the working process. In case of late arrival, we unfortunately cannot guarantee entry into the lab.

The programme is held in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.

The programme is intended for participants aged 14 and above unless stated otherwise.

In case of cancellation, we will notify you two days before the scheduled start.

If you are unable to attend, participation fees are non-refundable and the date cannot be changed. You may transfer your participation to another person by informing us at least 24 hours before the start at zeleni@center-rog.si.
