You are invited to the first guided tour of the O2OOP retrospective exhibition! Together with members of the Oloop collective and Zala Orel, the program director of the BIEN Biennial of Textile Art, we will walk through the twenty-year social-design practice of the collective.

For many years, Oloop has been creating textile products and artworks that connect with and enrich other textile communities and individuals. Therefore, a close and fruitful collaboration with the Biennial of Textile Art BIEN was inevitable. Zala Orel will lead a presentation on the significance of the Oloop collective for textile art in Slovenia, focusing on the important social impacts that arise from their creations through the exhibited works.

Artists and designers Tjaša Bavcon, Jasmina Ferček, and Katja Burger Kovič have been working under the name Oloop since 2003, when they founded the Institute for Contemporary Textile Art and Design of the same name. The Oloop collective is active in various fields of visual creation, from product design and spatial installations to textile art. They also conduct training, lectures, and workshops, linking design with socially engaged projects. Their products and projects are featured in the most important presentations of Slovenian design at home and abroad. With the O2OOP retrospective exhibition and a series of accompanying events, Oloop focuses on the power and importance of textiles and textile communities, women as inventors and creators of textiles, and celebrates their long-standing collaborative creative journey.

The meeting point for the guided tour is at 12 PM in the exhibition hall – 1st floor.

The event is free of charge; however, registration is recommended for easier coordination.

The O2OOP exhibition and accompanying events were created in co-production with the Rog Center and the Biennial of Textile Art BIEN (Zavod Carnica) and with financial support from the Municipality of Ljubljana (MOL) and the ACF Program (in Slovenia 2014-2021).
