Introduction to Jewelry Enameling Techniques
12. 3. 2026
In this enameling course, we will learn the basic steps of this interesting jewelry-making process, which has had a significant impact throughout history. We will learn the specifics of working with enamel and gain insight into combining metal and glass in the creation of contemporary jewelry.
At the first meeting, we will use sawing, filing, and grinding to prepare metal bases for earrings of various organic shapes.
At the second meeting, we will upgrade the metal bases using the enameling technique. We will learn about enamel – glass powder that can be transformed into a shiny, durable surface with the help of heat. We will learn how to prepare enamel for application and how to apply it correctly. We will apply seven layers of enamel to our jewelry, which will create depth and color intensity. We will add a special shine with silver leaf, which will give each piece of jewelry a unique character.
At the third meeting, we will assemble our enameled artworks into colorful wearable earrings, which we will embellish with shiny metal accessories.
