Closed public call JR-Studio-4 for the use of project studios at Center Rog
We have concluded the public call procedure for new users of the project studios at Center Rog. Eight new individual creators or creative collectives will be joining the existing users, working in the fields of product and fashion design, engineering, and applied arts.
We have completed the public call JR Studio 4, published on 28 November 2025. We received 27 applications. Among them, the expert committee — as named in the call documentation — evaluated 21 complete applications based on the selection criteria. In the second round of selection, 14 applicants were invited to present their projects.
Following careful evaluation, the committee awarded the use of project studios free of charge to eight individual creators or collectives, who will move into their new workspaces in two intake periods.
The next public call, with move-in dates scheduled for 2027, is expected to be published in autumn this year.
Studio users starting work in April 2026:
- Zadruga Innovative Solutions Yeye will further develop the LUFTA project, creating an inflatable line of lounge furniture.
- Nuša Jelenec will optimise the production line of Toasted Furniture.
- Metod Burgar will produce the WOOD‘N’ROLL skipping rope, a product that combines craftsmanship, contemporary design, and a variety of Slovenian materials.
- Prostori s. p. will develop the Textile Paper 2.0 project — an innovative, bio-based and biodegradable material derived from industrial waste streams, offering a sustainable alternative to Texon paper and combining the properties of paper and textile.
Studio users starting work in September 2026:
Zadruga Allium will develop internal packaging made of moulded fibre pulp for the protection of fragile products, replacing plastic with local biological materials.
Jan Šimnovec and Margerita Voulissa Stell Pičman will design the passive measuring device Sramežljivka — a flower that responds to air humidity by opening and closing its petals.
Lan Krebs will create the Gini collection, which translates high fashion into a wearable and sustainable line with clearly defined pieces and a one-size-fits-all concept, with options for colour, pattern, and pleating.
Matej Štefanac will develop the Belt Lamp project, a lighting object featuring a distinctive textile strap that allows adjustment of the light source height and different lighting modes.
Project studios are intended for circular use over a limited period of one to three years, depending on the complexity of the proposed project. Key selection criteria include social and environmental impact, innovation, and the need to use Center Rog’s production facilities.
In addition to their own workspace, selected creators also have access to all nine shared production labs for prototyping, experimentation, unique production, and small-scale manufacturing.
