Silver Textured Earrings

In this workshop, you will make a unique pair of silver earrings and learn the basic processes of shaping metal in the Jewelry Lab. The workshop is intended for anyone who would like to try working with silver, fire and small jewellery-making techniques, and take home a wearable piece of jewellery.

Step by step, you will learn how to make earrings from silver wire: how to measure the right dimensions, prepare and shape the metal, solder it with fire, sand it and finish the final piece. Special attention will be given to texturing the metal with a filing technique, which gives the surface of the earrings a distinct handmade character.

You will also learn how to make the finishing parts of the earrings, or studs, and how to attach them properly to the base. This is a small but important detail that turns a piece of metal into a wearable and finished piece of jewellery.

At the end of the workshop, you will take home a pair of silver textured earrings – a unique fashion accessory that you have made from start to finish.

Prior knowledge

No prior knowledge is required. The workshop is suitable for beginners and anyone who would like to learn the basic processes of working in the Jewelry Lab.

About the mentor

The workshop is led by Dalija Sega, a mentor at Center Rog’s Jewelry Lab. She guides participants through the basic processes of working with metal, from material preparation to precise final finishing. In her mentoring, she pays special attention to safe work, understanding tools and gradually learning jewellery-making techniques. Her guidance is practical and clear, which makes the workshop suitable for complete beginners as well.

Participants meet 15 minutes before the start of the programme in the entrance hall of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers indicated by the mentor. Do not be late, as this disrupts the working process. In case of late arrival, we unfortunately cannot guarantee entry to the lab.

In case of cancellation, we will notify you two days before the planned start.

If you are unable to attend the programme, the fee is non-refundable and the date cannot be changed. You may transfer your participation to another person, provided you notify us at least 24 hours before the start at nakit@center-rog.si.
