Propolis Products

In this workshop, we will explore propolis, a bee product used by bees to protect their hive, and learn how to use it to make a range of products.
Why choose propolis?
Propolis is a natural substance with anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. It is often used in products for oral, throat and skin care, as well as in dietary supplements to support the immune system.
After a short talk, we will move on to practical work and make three products with propolis:
- lip balm with propolis, honey and virgin beeswax,
- soap with propolis and honey (propolis cares for the skin and has regenerative properties, while honey also has antiseptic properties), and
- honey lollipops with propolis (which helps relieve sore throats, mouth ulcers and other oral discomfort).
You will take your products home. Detailed recipes will help you make them again at home. The workshop focuses on using propolis; we will not cover the technology used to extract it.
The workshop is organised in collaboration with the Urbani čebelar.
About the mentor
The workshop will be led by Janja Likar, a beekeeper, certified apitherapist and herbalist working under the JanjaBee brand. She shares her knowledge of bee products, herbs and their uses through workshops and talks across Slovenia. More: www.janjabee.si.

Participants should gather in the entrance hall of Center Rog 15 minutes before the programme begins. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers indicated by the mentor. Do not be late, as this disrupts the working process. In case of late arrival, entry to the lab cannot be guaranteed.
The programme is held in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.
In case of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the planned start of the programme.
If you are unable to attend the programme, the fee is non-refundable and the date cannot be changed. You may transfer your place to another person by notifying us at least 24 hours before the start at zeleni@center-rog.si.
