The Storytelling with Textiles workshop is intended for an intergenerational audience. This is a workshop that establishes a connection between textile handcrafting and the living reality of an individual’s life. It builds on the recognition of poetic, magical, and universal stories that we live every day, throughout our lives. Through various exercises, we will search for motifs, shapes, patterns, colors, and dreams that make up our stories. We will learn how to write a story and translate it from language into textiles. We will recognize and assemble materials, visual elements, symbols, archetypes, and emotions into new compositions and finally handcraft a useful textile piece. All materials used for making will be repurposed and, through the participants’ work, will gain a new life, even in the literal sense of the word.

The course is intended for anyone who wonders who they are, where they come from, and where they are going. For anyone interested in storytelling and exploration through stories. And for anyone interested in working with textiles...

The goal of the program is to gain a broader perspective on life’s reality, the power of creativity and imagination, and the liberating power of relaxed handwork.

The workshop will take place once a week, on Thursdays, from February 6, 2025, to April 24, 2025, between 18:00 and 19:30.

Small sewing tools (needles, small scissors, etc.) should be provided by the participants themselves.
