Join us for a workshop dedicated to nutrition for older adults. We will learn how to adapt meals to the changing needs of the body and the most common health challenges faced by older people. We will explore how to prepare nutritious and energy-dense dishes that remain enjoyable to eat, even in cases of swallowing difficulties, reduced appetite, or special dietary requirements. Everyone who wishes to gain practical knowledge is welcome, especially those who want to be prepared before they find themselves in a situation where they need to care for adapted nutrition for themselves or their loved ones.

In the workshop we will:

  • learn about the basic nutritional needs of older adults and how these change with age;
  • understand how to adapt meals for the most common health challenges, such as kidney or liver diets, diabetes, or dysphagia;
  • learn how to prepare meals that older adults will actually eat, even if they feel full quickly or have a reduced appetite;
  • explore methods of energy enrichment of meals so that smaller portions meet full nutritional needs;
  • practically prepare dishes according to instructions and try techniques that help prevent malnutrition;
  • develop skills that improve the quality of life of older adults through appropriate nutrition.

The workshop will equip us with the knowledge and skills to confidently care for the nutrition of older adults, prevent malnutrition, and support their health and well-being.
