PAPLab - Paper with Dried Flowers

At the workshop, our green lab will temporarily transform into PAPLab, a workshop for handmade paper production. In this workshop, we will make paper from cotton pulp and decorate it with dried or freshly picked flowers. Floral paper is wonderful for creating special letters or greeting cards, and everyone will be able to make their own sheet of paper following the "do it yourself" principle.

During the workshop, we will learn about traditional, handmade papermaking and the profession of a master papermaker. We will also learn why preserving cultural heritage is important and more about the concept of a circular economy. In the field of handmade papermaking, the master is an expert in professional handmade paper production, which in practice means that with proper grinding of the raw material and correct pulp scooping onto the screen, using acquired feeling and experience, they produce a sheet of precisely defined grammage, mix the right shade of color, produce sheets that are evenly thick across the entire surface, create a sheet with a watermark, etc.

About the mentors:

At each workshop, there will be a master and an assistant master.

The assembly of participants is 15 minutes before the agreed time in the entrance hall of the Center Rog. Please store personal belongings in the lockers before the program starts. Do not be late for the program. In case of delay, entry is not guaranteed - after the start of the creative process, joining is no longer possible!

The workshop will be conducted with a minimum of 6 registrations. In case of non-performance, you will be informed no later than two days before the start of the program.

In case of non-attendance, the fees will not be refunded, nor is it possible to change the date. Participation can be transferred to another person, please notify us at least 24 hours before the start by email at: zeleni@center-rog.si.
