Halloween Hot Dog Mummies

A week before Halloween, the Cooking Lab will turn into a real little witch’s laboratory, where children will prepare three fun and slightly spooky recipes.

We will start by making hot dog mummies, then prepare quesadillas with cut-out faces, and finish with cherry pies that will look as if they are bleeding at first glance.

In this workshop, children will learn three new recipes in a playful way, while also having space for individual creativity and developing motor skills such as cutting, shaping, wrapping dough and assembling dishes.

After cooking, we will eat the prepared dishes together. We recommend that children bring a plastic food container with a lid, so they can take any leftover food home.

Children are welcome to attend the workshop in costume, as long as the costume does not get in the way while cooking.

The workshop is intended for children aged 7 and above. No prior knowledge is required.

The workshop will take place on Saturday, 24 October 2026, from 11:00 to 13:00 in the Cooking Lab.

About the mentor

The workshop will be led by Lea Mavec, mentor of the Cooking Lab. She has been working with food for ten years, both in Slovenia and abroad. She has experience in professional kitchens and cooking for private groups, and especially enjoys working with children, introducing them to the basics of cooking in a creative and playful way.

Participants should gather in the entrance hall of Center Rog 15 minutes before the programme begins. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers indicated by the mentor. Do not be late, as this disrupts the working process. In case of late arrival, entry to the lab cannot be guaranteed.

The programme is held in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.

The workshop is intended for children aged 7 and above.

In case of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the planned start of the programme.

If you are unable to attend the programme, the fee is non-refundable and the date cannot be changed. You may transfer your place to another person by notifying us at least 24 hours before the start at kuhanje@center-rog.si.
