Glass Plates
27. 6. 2024
At the two-day workshop, each participant will create their own unique plate from recycled window glass.
Duration: 2 sessions of 2 hours each.
- Thursday, April 18, from 6 PM to 8 PM
- Thursday, April 25, from 6 PM to 8 PM
Session 1: We will start with a theoretical introduction to glass shaping using the slumping technique, followed by hands-on practice. Each participant will first choose their mold for bending and cut the glass according to its size and shape. Then, we will learn how to prepare the glass and molds for firing and properly load them into the kiln and ignite it.
Session 2: It's time for cold processing of the glass plates. First, we will unload the plates from the kiln and start grinding the glass. Optionally, each individual can further decorate their plate using techniques such as engraving, etching, or sandblasting.
Does the workshop count as training?
