In this two-day workshop, you will combine artificial intelligence, 3D printing and basic jewellery-making techniques to create a unique brooch from resin and metal. The workshop is intended for anyone who would like to explore how an idea can be developed with AI tools and then transformed from a digital sketch into a wearable piece of jewellery.

The first session takes place in the FabLab. There, you will learn how to use artificial intelligence to develop an idea for a brooch, shape an interesting visual proposal and prepare it for further production. The selected idea will be turned into a file for 3D printing and printed in three-dimensional form.

The second session takes place in the Jewelry Lab. There, you will learn how to make a metal backing for the brooch from brass or copper, how to saw, shape and prepare the metal, and how to combine it with the printed part. We will also make the pin mechanism that turns the brooch into a functional and wearable accessory.

The final piece will be a brooch that brings together digital design, 3D-printed resin and hand-worked metal. You will take home a unique piece of jewellery and experience the full process: from the first idea to an object you can pin to a piece of clothing, a bag or a jacket.

Who is the workshop for?

The workshop is intended for beginners and anyone interested in connecting digital tools, artificial intelligence, 3D printing and jewellery. No prior knowledge is required. The programme is intended for participants over the age of 14.

About the mentors

The workshop is led by Tauan Bernardo from the FabLab and Dalija Sega from Center Rog’s Jewelry Lab. Tauan introduces participants to digital fabrication, file preparation and the basic principles of 3D printing. Dalija leads the practical part in the Jewelry Lab, where participants learn basic metalworking, how to make finishing elements and how to assemble a piece of jewellery. Together, they connect the digital and manual parts of the process and show how contemporary tools and traditional techniques can create a surprising piece of jewellery.
