The CNC router is nowadays an indispensable machine for manufacturing products from wood and wood composites. A 3-axis milling machine allows for quick and precise cutting of sheet materials as well as milling complex 3-dimensional shapes. Its versatility enables everything from rapid prototyping to almost mass production of repeatable parts, as well as the creation of complex wooden artworks. A fourth axis is also available, allowing for CNC machining of round workpieces.

The 3-hour training covers the most important basic knowledge needed for independent use of a CNC router. During the training, participants will first learn about safety basics when working with a CNC milling machine. We will introduce you to the purpose and use of the machine and its components. You will start by preparing a 3D file and converting it into G-code using the CAD/CAM program Fusion360. Then, you will transfer the prepared G-code to the CNC machine software MACH3, which you will use to operate the machine. You will learn how to choose the appropriate cutting tool and how to correctly install and set its position on the machine.

Participants are to gather 15 minutes before the scheduled time in the entrance hall of the Rog Center. Please store personal belongings in the lockers before the program begins. Do not be late for the program. We cannot guarantee entry in case of tardiness—once the creative process starts, joining the session is no longer possible!

In case of non-attendance, the training fee is non-refundable, and rescheduling is not possible. However, you can transfer your participation to another person, provided you notify us at least 24 hours before the start via email at les@center-rog.si.
