Laura Češarek

Laura Češarek is a graphic designer by profession, but her journey has led her into the world of textiles. She creates and sews children's clothing under the name Pincaponca. She learned the basics of handicrafts from her grandmother at a young age, and over the years, she has only deepened her knowledge and love for handmade creations. In her work, she follows the principle that less is more, choosing neutral and subdued colors and patterns. She is also mindful of the ecological aspect, using natural materials with verified certifications and designing garments to be worn for a longer time. Her main guiding principle is comfort, ensuring that children's clothing does not hinder their exploration of the world. Her Basic collection was designed with a gender-neutral approach. Made from stretchy fabrics in neutral colors, all pieces are easily combinable. The collection consists of sweatshirts and various styles of long pants, making it suitable for everyday wear throughout all seasons. The core idea is that clothing from this collection can be passed down among siblings. She is currently developing a linen collection in which she aims to incorporate natural dyes. She is exploring ways to further utilize household waste before discarding it completely. During her residency at Center Rog, she will first refine the pattern for a children's dress and then research different applications of natural dyes. Her main goal is to find a way to use natural dyes for textile printing while ensuring the durability of the colors.
