Tripod for Cooking

The picnic and outdoor cooking season is starting! In the metal lab, we will prepare for it by creating a three-legged stand for cooking stews, polenta, and even fried eggs.

The tripod is designed for cooking over an open fire. We will make it out of iron, ensuring it is durable and will serve us for a long time. Additionally, it will be versatile and suitable for various pot sizes.

We invite everyone who wants to learn the basics of metalworking. During the workshop, we will learn how to properly cut iron, grind metal, and weld it into a useful product. After the workshop, you will be able to use your newly acquired skills to make various other tools for cooking over a fire and other metal products.

Prerequisite knowledge:

Basic "technical literacy" is preferred, with no fear of using manual and electric tools.

About the mentors:

The workshop will be led by Luka Ložar, a craftsman, blacksmith, and great enthusiast of cooking over an open fire. In addition to practical knowledge of metalworking, he will share a lot of insights about food preparation and maintaining cookware for cooking over a fire.

The meeting point for participants is 15 minutes before the scheduled time in the entrance hall of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers, which the mentor will show you. Please do not be late, as it disrupts the working process. Unfortunately, we cannot allow entry into the lab if you are late.

The program will be conducted in Slovenian unless otherwise stated.

In case of cancellation, we will notify you two days before the planned start.

If you cannot attend the program, the participation fee is non-refundable, and it’s not possible to change the date. You can transfer your participation to someone else, but please notify us at least 24 hours before the program starts via email: kovina@center-rog.si
