Together on the Carpet

Together on the Carpet, a free event for anyone who wants to contribute to the growth of the community carpet with the Oloop collective

The community rug is one of the most recognizable works of the Oloop collective and reflects their commitment to well-being-oriented design. After a few years of dormancy, the rug will come back to life and offer its colorful space to visitors once again. Community rug intertwines many stories of hands that have been creating it since 2012 as part of the Connections project which started at the Kresija Gallery in Ljubljana. Since then, the rug, along with Oloop collective, has traveled and grown in various locations within and outside Slovenia.

During the O2OOP exhibition, we will continue crocheting the rug together – the first opportunity will be on Saturday, June 22, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. You are invited to take your time, sit on the rug, and join in the co-creation, intertwining, connecting, refining ideas, and calming thoughts through handicrafts.

Following the workshop, there will be a guided tour of the exhibition with Zala Orel (BIEN) and the Oloop collective at 12 PM.

The event is free of charge; however, registration is recommended for easier coordination.

The O2OOP exhibition and accompanying events were created in co-production with the Rog Center and the Biennial of Textile Art BIEN (Zavod Carnica) and with financial support from the Municipality of Ljubljana (MOL) and the ACF Program (in Slovenia 2014-2021).
