TIG welding of aluminum is a demanding but highly useful skill for anyone involved in manufacturing, repair, or prototyping of metal structures. TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) is a process that uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode and a shielding gas, most commonly argon. Due to its precision and aesthetic results, it is ideal for welding thin materials and all cases where the appearance of the weld is of key importance.

The course takes place in a small group (2 participants), with an emphasis on direct mentorship and practical work. Participants will develop a feel for the material and master aluminum welding techniques – the most in-demand area of TIG welding among the users of Center Rog.

Program by sessions

  • 1st session
Introduction to the safe use of machines in the metalworking laboratory, basics of TIG welding theory, presentation of equipment, and first practical aluminum welding exercises.
  • 2nd session
Presentation of making an aluminum cube as the main exercise. The mentor will demonstrate material preparation, machine setup, electrode selection, and the influence of settings on weld quality.
  • 3rd session
Independent welding of the aluminum cube. The mentor will provide participants with ongoing feedback and help improve their technique.

What will you learn?

  • Proper preparation of aluminum sheets for welding
  • Machine settings for aluminum welding
  • Use of TIG electrodes and filler materials
  • Recognition and troubleshooting of mistakes
  • Welding in different positions
  • Basics of working with a welding table and organizing the workspace
