Sushi
11. 8. 2025

Sushi Workshop with Japanese Master Shin Sato is a great opportunity for everyone interested in discovering the secrets of preparing authentic (fish) sushi. Under the guidance of an experienced chef, who combines art and culinary skills here in Slovenia, you will explore the importance of precision, aesthetics, and high-quality ingredients in Japanese cuisine. During the workshop, we will learn how to properly prepare and season rice, slice fish and vegetables, and shape different types of sushi such as maki and nigiri. You will gain practical skills that will enable you to make sushi at home, as well as understand the importance of hygiene and Japanese tradition when working with raw ingredients. Sushi originally developed as a method of preserving fish in fermented rice, but today its preparation has become a true art form. The workshop will be further enriched by the personal approach of Master Sato, who directly shares his knowledge and creativity with participants.
We warmly invite you to join us on this culinary journey through Japanese cuisine. The workshop will be conducted in English.

About the mentors:
The workshop will be led by Shin Sato, a Japanese chef and artist who works at the Camut restaurant in the Karst village of Kazlje, and also runs the renowned Japanese restaurant Sato Bento in Ljubljana.
