Modular Dome [2nd meeting]
25. 4. 2025

Neighbor’s Day – Create, Collaborate, and Celebrate with Us
Join us at the preparatory meeting for Neighbor's Day, where we will build a modular dome that we will set up specifically for this occasion.
The dome is not just a space that provides shade and protects from the June sun, but also a unique piece of artwork made of fabric, wood, and other materials, which will be created together by FabLab, our textile lab, with the help of neighbors and anyone who signs up for the free preparatory workshops.
At FabLab, we will design the lightweight structure of the dome, made from 3D printed components and wood. In the textile lab, we will create waterproof fabric, which we will laser-cut with images of vegetation and animals that live in our area, along with their scientific names. For the visitors of the dome, it will be an experience of shelter, a meeting point, and a discovery of plant and animal species, as well as an introduction to creative construction: a combination of 3D printed joints and wooden spacers.
Meeting dates (feel free to join us at more than one preparatory meeting):
Wednesday, April 16, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (FabLab)
Friday, April 25, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Textile Lab)
Friday, May 9, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Textile Lab)
Friday, May 16, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Textile Lab)

On Saturday, June 7, Neighbor's Day will take place all day in the Park of the Erased. It’s an event that connects the residents of the neighborhood as well as the organizations, associations, institutes, and establishments that work in the area, as well as anyone who doesn’t live nearby but feels like part of the community. It is meant for relaxed socializing, getting to know each other, and various activities that we will prepare together. On this day, Center Rog will open its doors wide and offer numerous free workshops, tours of the building and labs, sports activities, a community picnic, and a swap meet, all of which will last until the evening when we will conclude the event with a concert.
