Rog’s Flavours of the World: Peruvian Ceviche

Rog’s Flavours of the World is a series of culinary workshops dedicated to exploring cuisines from different countries around the world. Each workshop presents one country through its culinary traditions, characteristic ingredients and recipes.

This time, we will enter the world of Peruvian cuisine and learn how to prepare traditional Peruvian ceviche from start to finish.

We will get to know the key ingredients, preparation techniques and ways of balancing the fresh, citrusy and spicy flavours that define ceviche. We will also talk about the origins and tradition of this popular Peruvian dish, and prepare and taste our own version together.

The workshop is practical and intended for adults and anyone interested in world cuisines, fresh ingredients and dishes where the balance of flavours plays an especially important role. No prior knowledge is required.

The workshop will take place on Thursday, 15 October 2026, from 16:00 to 20:00 in the Cooking Lab.

About the mentor

The workshop will be led by Valeria Citterer, a visual artist from Venezuela, member of the Mladi Rog programme and mentor of culinary workshops at Center Rog. In her work, she connects food, ceramics and visual art, exploring how cuisine can create community, preserve cultural memory and bring together people from different cultures.

Participants should gather in the entrance hall of Center Rog 15 minutes before the programme begins. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers indicated by the mentor. Do not be late, as this disrupts the working process. In case of late arrival, entry to the lab cannot be guaranteed.

The programme is held in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.

The programme is intended for participants aged 14 and above, unless stated otherwise.

In case of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the planned start of the programme.

If you are unable to attend the programme, the fee is non-refundable and the date cannot be changed. You may transfer your place to another person by notifying us at least 24 hours before the start at kuhanje@center-rog.si.
