Preparatory Workshop for Neighbours’ Day: Metal Keychains (in Slovenian)

We invite you to a preparatory workshop in the Jewellery Lab, where we will create metal pendants from copper and brass for this year’s Neighbours’ Day. Under expert guidance, we will learn the basics of metalworking step by step. We will master sawing, drilling, filing, and basic surface finishing techniques, preparing high-quality elements for further creative work.

During the workshop, we will:
cut circles from copper and brass using hand tools;
drill holes and carefully refine edges through filing;
learn basic metal-shaping techniques using hammers and stamps;
prepare metal elements suitable for further decoration and use.

The metal circles produced in this workshop will be used in creative sessions during Neighbours’ Day, where visitors will stamp and imprint motifs into them, transforming them into unique finished pendants.

The workshop is suitable for adults and provides hands-on skills, a sense for materials, and an understanding of basic metalworking processes — knowledge that can be further developed in future creative projects.

If you attend at least two sessions, you will also obtain the qualification Jeweller’s Bench 1, which is the foundation for independent work in the Jewellery Lab. The session dates are:

• Wednesday, 20 May 2026, 17:00–20:00

Participants should arrive 15 minutes before the start of the programme in the entrance lobby of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers, which will be shown to you by the mentor. Please do not be late, as this disrupts the working process. In case of late arrival, we unfortunately cannot guarantee entry into the lab.

The programme is held in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.

The programme is intended for participants aged 14 and above unless stated otherwise.

In case of cancellation, we will notify you two days before the scheduled start.

If you are unable to attend, participation fees are non-refundable and the date cannot be changed. You may transfer your participation to another person by informing us at least 24 hours before the start at nakit@center-rog.si.
