The gemstone industry is increasingly challenged by the growing presence of very convincing synthetic diamonds, whose differentiation from natural diamonds has become a real scientific art. Although they are almost identical on the outside, the differences between them are crucial—both in terms of value and ethics.

This one-day master class is aimed at anyone involved in making jewelry, selling, or investing in gemstones who wants to deepen their knowledge and acquire practical diamond identification skills.

Participants will:

  • Learn the basic differences between natural diamonds, synthetic diamonds, and simulants
  • Gain an insight into the technologies used to produce laboratory-grown diamonds (HPHT, CVD).
  • Learn how to identify different types of stones using basic gemological tools.
  • Understand how the different types of diamonds affect the market, the valuation of jewelry, and the natural environment
