Baking and cooking without eggs (in Slovenian)

When baking and cooking, we often think that eggs are essential to “bind” ingredients together, but in many recipes, the flour already does the binding. Join this workshop to learn how eggs in everyday dishes can easily be replaced with plant-based alternatives, such as fruit or vegetable purees, seeds (flax and chia), and aquafaba, the water in which chickpeas are cooked, to replace egg whites.
We will prepare chickpea omelets, vegetable patties, scrambled tofu, rice pudding, and chocolate brownies, discovering that eggs are often not necessary at all. This workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to gain practical knowledge on egg replacements, expand their cooking skills, and gain confidence in cooking and baking without animal ingredients. We will work with simple, accessible ingredients that you can immediately use at home.

About the Mentor
The workshop will be led by Tjaša Ribič, a graduate dietitian who gained culinary experience as a chef in a vegan kitchen in New Zealand, where she lived for two and a half years. She is passionate about recipe development, food photography and videography, and nutritional counseling. She promotes plant-based eating as a delicious, nutritious, and health-supportive choice that can positively impact many health conditions. She chose this lifestyle for health reasons, love for animals, and a lower environmental impact. For her, veganism is a lifestyle that brings energy, joy, and creative inspiration – everything she does is done with love.

Participants should arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled time in the main lobby of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers, which the mentor will show you. Do not be late, as late entry cannot be guaranteed and disrupts the workflow.
The program is conducted in Slovenian, except where stated otherwise.
If the workshop is canceled, you will be informed two days before the scheduled start.
If you cannot attend, the fee is non-refundable and the date cannot be changed, but your spot can be transferred to another person if you notify us at least 24 hours in advance at kuhanje@center-rog.si.
