Porcelain Jewellery (in Slovenian)
22. 5. 2026
At the workshop, we will create unique pieces of jewellery from existing porcelain objects. Old plates, cups, bowls, or broken fragments — objects we have found, inherited, or forgotten, and that have lost their original purpose — will be given a new life as wearable jewellery.
We will make earrings, necklaces, or brooches. The process will begin with planning and selecting suitable porcelain pieces, followed by cutting and grinding to make them safe and comfortable to wear. Finally, we will assemble the porcelain elements into finished jewellery pieces.
The workshop is open to everyone interested in sustainable design approaches, material reuse, and the creation of unique objects.
The workshop is part of the accompanying programme of the 6th International Ceramics Triennial UNICUM 2026.
About the mentor
The workshop will be led by Bojana Ristevski Mlaker, ceramic artist and owner of Juha Studio. In 2009, she graduated from the Department of Ceramics at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade. Since 2017, she has been working in Ljubljana, where she founded Juha Studio ceramics. Her practice spans both sculptural, unique ceramic works and small-batch functional ceramics, primarily in porcelain and stoneware.
