Nature-Inspired Jewelry

On this workshop, we will create metal pendants with interesting, abstract shapes inspired by nature.

We will start with small pieces of metal sheet, on which you will draw your chosen motif, saw it out, and then carefully refine it by filing and sanding the edges. You can polish the surface or enhance it with interesting textures created using various tools. Once the shape is finished, the pendant will be prepared for attaching to a necklace or as a keychain.

During the workshop, you will learn basic jewelry-making processes and tools, including:

• sawing metal,
• proper filing and sanding,
• creating textures,
• preparing the final piece for wearing or use.

The workshop is a great opportunity for anyone interested in working with metal, making jewelry, or simply enjoying hands-on creativity. No prior experience is required.

Mentors

• Peter Dragolič began learning goldsmithing during his studies in Celje, where he earned his master’s title. In Australia, he specialized in fine jewelry, gemstone knowledge, and stone polishing. After returning home, he co-founded the Juvelirij studio at Center Rog with two other jewelry designers, creating his unique jewelry pieces.
• Metka Mikuletič is a Master of Architecture and a jewelry designer. After finishing goldsmith school, she started her independent path, combining traditional techniques and heritage with advanced design approaches. She works under the brand Mimotho, closely linked to architecture.

The project is funded by the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia.

Participants should gather 15 minutes before the scheduled time in the entrance hall of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers shown by the mentor. Do not be late, as this disrupts the workflow. Entry to the lab cannot be guaranteed in case of delay.

The program is conducted in Slovenian unless otherwise stated.

In case of cancellation, we will inform you at least two days before the scheduled start.

If you cannot attend, fees are non-refundable and rescheduling is not possible. You may transfer your participation to another person if you inform us at least 24 hours before the start at nakit@center-rog.si.
