Small-Scale Home Hydroponics for Every Household

Growing plants indoors allows us to cultivate fresh vegetables from seed to plate even during the winter months. Hydroponics, a soil-free growing technique, is particularly suitable for indoor gardening. However, plants grown in nutrient solutions require proper care, which calls for adequate knowledge.

Join our workshop in the Green Lab, where you’ll gain basic hydroponic knowledge through practical hands-on experience. Learn the fundamentals of hydroponics and indoor vegetable cultivation from seed to plate. Each participant will create their own hydroponic garden, suitable for windowsills, which can also function as a self-watering system for growing microgreens.

We will explore and prepare all the materials needed for growing plants at home, including substrates, nutrients, and seeds. Additionally, we will provide practical tips for successfully growing seedlings for outdoor gardens. Together, we will also build a slightly larger hydroponic system with a pump, offering a detailed introduction to various types of hydroponics.

This workshop is ideal for gardening enthusiasts, especially those without access to outdoor garden spaces but who still wish to grow their own herbs and vegetables year-round. No prior knowledge is required.

About the Mentor:

The workshop will be led by Kevin Hartman, an enthusiast in designing and crafting products and systems for cultivating living organisms. He specializes in hydroponics, aquaponics, indoor plant growing, and related technologies for sustainable food production.

Participants should arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start in the main lobby of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers indicated by the mentor. Late arrivals may disrupt the workflow and lab access cannot be guaranteed.

The program is conducted in Slovenian unless otherwise specified.

If the workshop is canceled, you will be notified two days before the scheduled start.

If you cannot attend, fees are non-refundable, and rescheduling is not possible. However, participation can be transferred to another person. Please notify us at least 24 hours before the program starts via email at zeleni@center-rog.si.
