Wooden wall hanger – mini course with training on the combination woodworking machine (in Slovenian)

In this mini course, we will make a contemporary wooden wall rack that fits easily into different spaces and folds compactly against the wall when not in use. Each participant will choose the wood and arrange the slats in their own way, creating a unique and personalised object for the home.

The course is a great choice for anyone who does not yet have much experience with woodworking machines but would like to gain confidence for independent work in the Wood Lab. Step by step, we will learn the five basic operations of the combination woodworking machine: surfacing, thicknessing, cutting on the circular saw, and routing with both the longitudinal guide and the cross stop.

The programme also counts as training for Kombinirka 1 and 2, allowing you to use the combination machine independently in the Wood Lab after completing the course. No prior knowledge is required.

In the first session, we will present the object and the work process, choose the material and begin with the basic preparation of the wood. We will learn surfacing and thicknessing, then cut the slats to width on the circular saw and process them again to their final dimensions.

In the second session, we will focus on more precise operations. We will cut the boards to length, cut them at an angle using a template, and then make grooves and tenons on the table router. We will also prepare the holes for joining the pieces with a wooden dowel.

In the third session, we will shape the final details: round the corners, sand the slats by hand, oil them, dry-assemble the rack and then glue it together. Finally, we will prepare the back panel and finish the object for use at home.

You will take home your own handmade wooden wall rack and the knowledge needed for safe and independent use of the combination woodworking machine.

The course is intended for participants aged 14 and above.

About the mentors
The programme is led by mentors from the Wood Lab.

Participants are asked to gather 15 minutes before the scheduled time in the entrance lobby of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers indicated by the mentor. Please arrive on time, as delays disrupt the workflow. In case of lateness, we unfortunately cannot guarantee entry to the lab.

The program is conducted in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.

In the event of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the planned start.

If you are unable to attend, participation fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another date. You may transfer your spot to another person; please notify us at least 24 hours before the program begins at: les@center-rog.si
