Lecture by Urban Magušar at the Slovenian Clay Catalog Exhibition

Between March 5th and April 6th, 2024, an authorial project by Urban Magušar, titled "Catalog of Slovenian Clays," will be on display in the large exhibition hall of the Center Rog. Together with numerous collaborators, Magušar prepared this project, which presents various types of clay and clay pits in Slovenia.

In conjunction with the exhibition, on Thursday, March 7th, at 6:00 PM, we invite you to a lecture by Urban Magušar, featuring a presentation. During the lecture, he will introduce his work, the purpose and process of the "Catalog of Slovenian Clays" project, and announce three workshops to be held alongside the exhibition:

• Monday, March 18th, 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM: Workshop on Basics of Processing Clay from Nature
• Thursday, March 21st, 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM: Workshop on Clay: Inorganic and Organic Materials
• Monday, March 25th, 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM: Workshop on Clay Extrusion

The lecture is open to anyone interested in amateur or professional ceramic design, or those interested in natural materials.

About the author:

Urban Magušar is an industrial designer, ceramicist, potter, and educator. In addition to his authorial work, he has designed several series of utility ceramics, which he also produces in his workshop in Radovljica. He is the founder of the Magušar Pottery Workshop and Ceramic Design Workshop at the SEM Factory, and he has organized seven pottery festivals. He is the author of the "Master's Exercise" project, organized within his association "Fabrika Fabijana" (member of EOA - European Outsider Art Association), aimed at populations with special needs and training mentors for working with clay. Over nearly fifty years of his professional career, he regularly lectures, exhibits, organizes workshops, exhibitions, and other professional events in the field of ceramics.
