Patchwork on a Copper Base
21. 2. 2025

Join us for a workshop where we will create jewelry from polymer clay and metal.
Polymer clay is a PVC-based modeling material that allows for the creation of a wide variety of items—from small decorative objects to vibrant, colorful pieces of fashion and sculptural jewelry. This material is highly versatile and can be combined with elements such as glass, wood, metal, fabric (e.g., lace), leather, paper, acrylic and oil paints, and pastels. By adding metallic powders or blending colors, we can achieve unique patterns with dimensional effects. Soft and easy to shape, polymer clay hardens permanently only after baking in an oven.
In this workshop, we will explore the characteristics of polymer clay blending and learn how to create one-of-a-kind patterns using a handcraft technique. Additionally, we will cover the basics of copper processing and, by combining both materials, design a colorful and unique piece of jewelry. We will also touch on color theory, applying it practically to create a pendant. The knowledge gained will serve as inspiration and a foundation for future creative projects at home.
This workshop is intended for adults, and no prior experience is required. It is open to anyone interested in exploring a new material for jewelry making. Participants will take home their finished necklace as well as leftover pieces, which can be used later to create additional items.
About the mentors:
The workshop will be led by Katja Benevol Gabrijelčič from the Poligilda Creators’ Association and Dalija Sega, a mentor at the Jewelry Lab.
