Introductory pottery wheel course

Do you want to shape clay on the wheel independently? Then the course 'Practice Makes Perfect' is right for you.

This course is designed for anyone who wants to learn pottery wheel techniques or enhance their skills. During the course, we will practice shaping clay on the pottery wheel to gain the basics for further exploration and improvement of this technique. Additionally, we will learn about hand shaping tools, turning, and various glazing techniques. In addition to acquiring new knowledge, you will also create various shapes of thrown table ceramics; from cups to bowls of various sizes.

Duration: 6 sessions of 3 hours:

• Monday, May 6th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Monday, May 13th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Monday, May 20th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Monday, May 27th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Monday, June 3rd, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Monday, June 10th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Prerequisites:

NO, no prior knowledge is required. The workshop is intended for adults.

Is the workshop considered training?

YES, by participating in the workshop, you will complete training for hand shaping clay and pottery wheel (valued at €30 for members/€40 for non-members) – next time you will be able to use this workstation independently during open sessions.

About the Instructors:

The course will be led by Barbara Gogala, a potter, ceramic designer, and psychologist. Barbara is proficient in clay wheel shaping techniques, hand shaping, and explores the world of glaze formulation.

The participants should 15 minutes before the agreed time in the entrance hall of the Center Rog. Please, before the start of the program, put your personal belongings in the locker rooms. Do not be late for the program. In case of delay, entry is not guaranteed - once the creative process begins, it is no longer possible to join in!

The workshop will be held with a minimum of 4 registrations. In case of non-execution, you will be notified no later than two days before the start of the program.

Registration fees are non-refundable, and changing the date is not possible. However, you can transfer your participation to another person by informing us via email at least 24 hours before the start: steklokeramika@center-rog.si.
