Do you remember how our grandmothers used to make delicious dishes from just a few simple ingredients — like strudels, dumplings, and other treats made with stretched dough?In this workshop, we’ll revive that traditional skill and discover that making your own phyllo dough is easier than it seems. With just a few tricks and a bit of practice, you’ll become confident in preparing this versatile dough and the many dishes that come from it.Together, we’ll choose the right flour, knead and stretch the dough, and use it to prepare both sweet and savory creations. Along the way, you’ll get plenty of inspiration for how to include homemade dough in your everyday cooking — from classic dumplings and crispy strudels to burek and gibanica.The workshop is designed for adults who enjoy healthy, homemade food and want to master a traditional technique that never goes out of style.The learning process will be fun and hands-on — each participant will make their own dough, stretch it, choose a filling, and decide on the cooking or baking method.Come, roll up your sleeves, and experience the joy of cooking from scratch!Please bring a container with you, so you can take your delicious creations home.

We will learn how to:

  • choose the right flour and other basic ingredients for strudel dough,
  • prepare, knead, and stretch the dough correctly,
  • avoid the most common mistakes when making dough,
  • create various sweet and savory fillings,
  • use the dough for dishes such as dumplings and strudels,
  • properly cook or bake your creations,
  • apply simple tips and tricks for success at home — no special tools required.

Participants should gather 15 minutes before the scheduled start time in the entrance hall of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers, which the mentor will show you. Please be on time, as late arrivals disrupt the workflow. In the case of a delay, entry to the lab cannot be guaranteed.

The program is conducted in Slovenian, unless otherwise stated.

In case of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the scheduled start.

If you are unable to attend the program, the registration fee is non-refundable, and it is not possible to change the date. You can transfer your participation to another person, but please notify us at least 24 hours before the program begins at the email address: kuhanje@center-rog.si
