Hand shaping of clay and potter's wheel

You will get to know selected tools and machines necessary for various techniques of hand shaping clay and the procedures for using the potter's wheel. We will also address safety measures, how to properly prepare materials and machines for independent use, and become familiar with the drying and firing processes of clay products.

During the training we will knead and make one small product from a lump of clay. Later, the glass and ceramics lab mentors will glaze the products you will be able to collect them at the Made in Rog shop within 1 month after the training.

After completing the training, you will be able to independently create on the workstations: a table for free-forming and a potter's wheel, offering numerous possibilities for creating ceramic products ranging from simple cups, mugs, and plates to more complex bowls, trays, vases, or even ceramic furniture.

Training is suitable for participants aged 14 or older.

Participants should gather 15 minutes before the scheduled start time in the entrance hall of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers, which the mentor will show you. Please be on time, as late arrivals disrupt the workflow. In the case of a delay, entry to the lab cannot be guaranteed.

The program will be conducted in Slovenian unless otherwise stated.

In case of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the scheduled start.

If you are unable to attend the program, the registration fee is non-refundable, and it is not possible to change the date. You can transfer your participation to another person, but please notify us at least 24 hours before the program begins at the email address: steklokeramika@center-rog.si
