Glass Bead Making
30. 11. 2024
Techniques of Glass Shaping over Flame, also known as lampwork or flamework, this process involves heating glass rods over an open flame. Heating the glass allows us to shape it and create various items, such as glass beads, figurines, and ornaments.
If you want to get to know this technique, the Glass Beads Workshop is the right choice for you. The workshop is held in collaboration with the Rogaška Slatina School Center and includes a demonstration by students on how to create more complex and precise shapes over the flame. Part of the workshop will be dedicated to allowing you to try the technique yourself. You will learn how to use a burner, apply a separator, gather glass, and create basic shapes. You will also learn to grind, engrave, and sand. In parallel, the jewelry lab will prepare wire fittings for pendants, earrings, or bracelets, where you will then learn about bending and clamping the wire.
The program is intended for anyone who would like to explore the technique of glass shaping over flame, as well as the technique of wire shaping and stringing beads on wire.
About the Mentors:
