From Rog’s Cookbook: Through the Idrijca and Soča Valleys

In From Rog’s Cookbook, we strengthen our cooking skills and explore techniques that help dishes turn out well. This time, we will discover traditional dishes from the Idrijca and Soča valleys and keep the knowledge of making them alive through practical work.

We will start with Idrija žlikrofi, traditionally prepared by local miners for festive occasions. Next come Kobarid štruklji, followed by Bovec krapi.

Together, we will make these regional dishes and explore their preparation so you can make them at home. No prior knowledge is required.

About the mentors

Iva Verbnik holds a master’s degree in food technology and has researched nutrition and its effects on health for 35 years. Her workshops preserve knowledge of traditional home cooking.

Participants should gather in the entrance hall of Center Rog 15 minutes before the programme begins. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers indicated by the mentor. Do not be late, as this disrupts the working process. In case of late arrival, entry to the lab cannot be guaranteed.

The programme is held in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.

In case of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the planned start of the programme.

If you are unable to attend the programme, the fee is non-refundable and the date cannot be changed. You may transfer your place to another person by notifying us at least 24 hours before the start at kuhanje@center-rog.si.
