Crochet Meet-Up

The Crochet Meet-Up is intended for strengthening basic crochet knowledge and practising more advanced crochet techniques. The programme is designed for young people and adults who are interested in crochet and already have basic prior knowledge.

The meet-up is open both to more experienced crocheters and to hobby makers who would like to develop their skills, exchange experience and create in a welcoming group.

The aim of the programme is to strengthen skills, exchange experience and build community through handwork. Handwork can also have positive social and calming effects, as it encourages focus, a slower rhythm of work and connection with others.

At the meet-up, we will:

• revise basic stitches,
• learn more advanced stitches,
• learn how to read and create patterns,
• use patterns to make different types of objects,
• develop our own projects.

The meet-up will take place on Mondays from 18:00 to 19:30 in Studio 15. The first meeting will be on Monday, 5 October 2026, and the programme will end on 10 May 2027.

Due to holidays or school breaks, some dates may be adjusted in agreement with the participants. The meet-up will not take place on 26 October 2026, 28 December 2026 and 26 April 2027.

Prior knowledge is required: basic crochet skills.

About the mentor

The meet-up is led by Ivana Drakulić, who works in the fields of ethnology and film art. She comes from Slovakia and has been crocheting with enthusiasm since childhood. In Slovenia, she has led several crochet workshops and courses for adults and children in Ljubljana, Vrhnika and at the museum in Bistra.

Participants should gather in the entrance hall of Center Rog 15 minutes before the programme begins. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers indicated by the mentor. Do not be late, as this disrupts the working process. In case of late arrival, entry cannot be guaranteed.

The programme is held in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.

The programme is intended for young people and adults with basic crochet knowledge.

In case of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the planned start of the programme.

If you are unable to attend the programme, the fee is non-refundable and the date cannot be changed. You may transfer your place to another person by notifying us at least 24 hours before the start at tekstil@center-rog.si.
