Design at the center: The Value of Jewelry
Join us for the third talk in the Design at the Center series, which will take place on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Specialka Café. This time, we will discuss the value of jewelry.
What does jewelry mean to an individual? Why does its value exceed the material alone? While precious metals and stones influence the price, the true wealth of jewelry often lies in the stories it carries and the memories it evokes. As a legacy, a symbol of belonging, or an artistic expression, jewelry—regardless of the material it’s made from—can mean much more than just decoration.
We will explore different approaches in contemporary jewelry design—from the innovative use of recycled materials to fine work with gemstones and the impact of new technologies on production.

Design at the Center is a series of talks on design and design practices organized by Design Corner Ljubljana. In 2025, the events will be held in collaboration with Center Rog and Specialka Café, once a month on Wednesdays.
