Špela Ulaga
Špela is self-employed puppet designer, set designer and animator. She comes from Hrastnik, where she is actively involved in the theatre association Društvo Marionetno gledališče Jurček. Together with other members, she respects and protects the rich heritage of miner marionettes, and has been continuing the tradition of making them for a decade. She first heard about RogLab in 2013, where she soon tried her hand at using a laser and CNC machine, and three years later, for the show Zvezdica Zaspanka, she has already made most of the marionette heads in a container by the Ljubljanica River. In December, she will also hold two workshops on puppets and marionettes at Center Rog. During her residency, she is also working with other materials besides wood, especially glass and clay.
