Outdoor metal fire pit (in Slovenian)

You are invited to a course on making a contemporary metal fire pit from boiler steel, where we will work together to create a durable, functional, and aesthetically refined product for home use. The course is designed for anyone interested in practical metalworking skills and is an ideal opportunity for those who wish to expand their knowledge and hands-on abilities.

During the course, we will collaboratively build our own metal fire pit while learning how to use a plasma cutter, master the MAG welding process, explore sheet metal fabrication, and understand the assembly of metal structures. Participants will gain in-depth practical experience in MIG/MAG welding and take part in every stage of a metalworking project—from planning and cutting to welding and final finishing.

What will you learn?

• Safe use of the plasma cutter and other tools in the metal lab
• Techniques for marking and cutting sheet metal
• Basics of MAG welding
• Preparation, assembly, and final finishing of metal constructions
• Working with boiler steel and basic processing of high-temperature materials

Does the workshop count as training?

YES, participation in the workshop counts as a training for TIG welding.

About the mentor

The workshop will be led by Gregor Stražar, head of the Metal Lab, industrial designer, and maker of things that seem heavy to you.

Payment in two installments

Courses costing over €100 can be paid in two installments. Payment is possible at the Made in Rog shop or by bank transfer upon invoice if you contact us at tajnistvo@center-rog.si

Participants should gather 15 minutes before the scheduled start time in the entrance hall of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers, which the mentor will show you. Please be on time, as late arrivals disrupt the workflow. In the case of a delay, entry to the lab cannot be guaranteed.

The program will be conducted in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.

The program is intended for participants older than 14 years, except where noted otherwise.

In case of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the scheduled start.

If you are unable to attend the program, the registration fee is non-refundable, and it is not possible to change the date. You can transfer your participation to another person, but please notify us at least 24 hours before the program begins at the email address: kovina@center-rog.si
