In the workshop, children will learn about ceramic painting as they draw illustrations on bisque-fired plates prepared for them by the mentors. They will be introduced to the technique of underglaze painting and the use of pigments, and they will use overglaze chalks and pencils to create unique patterns and designs.

After the workshop, the Centre Rog team will place the plates in a kiln for proper firing. The children will be able to pick up their plates at the Centre Rog store and take them home.

The workshop is intended for children aged 8 to 12 years.

About the mentors:

The workshop will be led by Brigita Gantar, the head of the glass and ceramics lab. She is a designer of unique items by profession. She is primarily involved in hand shaping ceramics but also explores mold casting and wheel throwing. In glass design, she specializes in lost wax casting and cold glass processing.
