Wooden Picture Frame

At the workshop, we will make our own wooden picture frame.

First, we will determine the size of the frame, and then proceed with its creation. We will prepare the wooden slats, cut them to the appropriate length for the frame sides, and join them with glue and special clips to create the frame. While the glue is drying, we will cut the backing board, acrylic glass, and mat, as well as the picture, graphic, or photograph that we will frame. Before assembling the frame, participants will use a hand router, sand it, and protect the wood with oil or wax.

Prerequisites:

NO, no prior knowledge is required. The workshop is intended for adults who want to learn how to make their own picture frame.

About the Mentors:

The workshop will be led by David Kosi, a designer with years of experience in furniture construction. David is familiar with woodworking technology and wood composites, acrylic glass, and solid-surface materials. He especially enjoys working with his hands and learning to use new materials or technologies.

Jaka Oman, the head of the woodworking lab, is an industrial designer with years of experience in carpentry workshops. He has extensive experience in custom furniture making, from planning to assembly. He also masters general solid wood processing and enjoys experimenting with other materials.

The assembly of participants will be 15 minutes before the agreed time in the entrance hall of the Center Rog. Please store personal items in the lockers before the program starts. Do not be late for the program. In case of late arrival, entry is not guaranteed - once the creative process begins, it is no longer possible to join!

The workshop will be conducted with a minimum of 4 registrations. In case of non-execution, you will be informed no later than two days before the start of the program.

In case of non-participation, fees will not be refunded, nor is it possible to change the term. Participation can be transferred to another person, please notify us at least 24 hours before the start at the email address: les@center-rog.si.
