Training: Kniterate
22. 4. 2025

Training on the Digital Knitting Station is intended for learning the safe and proper use of the KNITERATE digital knitting machine.
Kniterate is essentially a double-bed knitting machine with computer-controlled knitting heads that can knit parts of garments according to a pre-made pattern (without waste), knit jacquard patterns with up to 6 colors (multicolor knitting), and is also prepared to knit various lace patterns, 3D effects, etc. The patterns and designs for knitting on the digital knitting machine are created in a free online software program, which participants will be introduced to during the introductory course.
It is recommended to have prior knowledge of using household double-bed knitting machines for using the Kniterate machine.
Participants must bring their own laptop to the training.
How will the training on the digital knitting station take place?
The training will take place in two sessions:
- The first session will be conducted in a group, where we will spend four hours familiarizing ourselves with the structure of knitted fabrics, the operation of the double-bed knitting machine, and setting up a knitting plan in the online software program. Each participant will set up a plan for their design, which will be dimensionally limited to approximately 15 cm x 15 cm.
- The second part of the training will be individual. You will schedule a session with the mentor, where you will independently set up the machine, input the knitting file, and knit your sample pattern.
After the training, there will be time for practice. Some yarn for testing will be available in the Textile Lab, but for the final products, participants must purchase yarn from the "Made in Rog" store or bring their own yarn. The yarn must be suitable for knitting on the Kniterate knitting machine (Nm 2/28 thickness). Please consult the Textile Lab team before purchasing yarn.
The training is suitable for individuals aged 14 and older.
