How to Start? Wooden Product Design Course
24. 2. 2025
Every wooden product has its own specifics, and each carpenter has their own perspective on wooden creations. When designing wooden products, it is important to understand technological processes, materials, construction methods, and wood joints. A good idea must also align with practical knowledge and the tools available on the market.
But how do you even start planning and making a new wooden product? Join us for an in-house course where we will return to the basics and explore the proven rules of wooden product construction.
Over four sessions, we will revisit the knowledge of wood composites and their use in woodworking. We will explore the basics of wood joints, their purpose, and the possibility and appropriateness of using wood joints in final products. You will learn the principles of designing and sketching final woodworking products, proper documentation preparation, and work on independently preparing a simple design for a wooden product.
The goal of the program is to gain, enrich, and master knowledge about wood composites, wood joints, and technologies for both machine and manual woodworking. This course is a great opportunity to deepen your practical woodworking knowledge with theoretical principles and the basic rules of carpentry.

He is a forestry engineer by education and enjoys passing on his knowledge to younger generations of carpenters. He works at a high school, teaching practical and theoretical subjects, and also mentors in the woodworking lab at Center Rog. Wood is an integral part of his professional life, as well as his free time hobbies, such as marquetry, carving, and restoration.
