Storytelling Through Textiles Meet-Up
27. 5. 2027
Storytelling Through Textiles is a regular meet-up that connects handwork with textiles, personal stories and creative exploration of everyday life.
Through various exercises, we will look for motifs, shapes, patterns, colours and dreams that form our stories, and learn how to translate them from verbal language into textile. We will recognise and combine materials, visual elements, symbols, archetypes and emotions, bringing them together into new compositions.
At the end, each participant will hand-make a useful textile piece based on their own story.
The meet-up is intended for anyone interested in storytelling, personal exploration and working with textiles. It is suitable for anyone asking themselves who they are, where they come from and where they are going – as well as for those interested in slow, relaxed handwork.
All materials used in the process will be reused, gaining a new life through the participants’ work.
The aim of the programme is to open up a broader view of lived reality, the power of creativity and imagination, and the liberating quality of relaxed handwork.
The meet-up will take place on Thursdays from 18:00 to 20:00, from 1 October 2026 to 27 May 2027, in Studio 15.
The participation fee is €40 per month for students and pensioners and €60 per month for employed participants. Registrations are handled by the mentor at nina.vastl@gmail.com. Registration is not managed by Center Rog.
Participants should bring small sewing tools, such as needles and small scissors.
