Glass sushi set (in Slovenian)

You are invited to a course in the glass lab, where we will learn to create with glass and make a unique glass sushi set. The two-piece set, consisting of a tray with legs and a chopstick holder, will be made over two sessions.

1st session:
First, we will focus on shaping the tray using the glass fusing technique. We will get acquainted with cutting and grinding glass, as well as assembling compositions that will be prepared for kiln firing. Next, we will create molds for the chopstick holder using the glass casting technique, into which we will place crystal glass and prepare them for firing in the kiln.

2nd session:
In the second session, we will take the previously prepared pieces out of the kiln, clean them, and continue with so-called cold working. The individual parts will be further ground, polished, and finalized so that they are ready for use.

About the mentors

The course will be led by mentors from glass lab Nika Šantej and Nina Podobnikar.

Participants should gather 15 minutes before the scheduled start time in the entrance hall of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers, which the mentor will show you. Please be on time, as late arrivals disrupt the workflow. In the case of a delay, entry to the lab cannot be guaranteed.

The program will be conducted in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.

The program is intended for participants older than 14 years, except where noted otherwise.

In case of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the scheduled start.

If you are unable to attend the program, the registration fee is non-refundable, and it is not possible to change the date. You can transfer your participation to another person, but please notify us at least 24 hours before the program begins at the email address: steklokeramika@center-rog.si
