At the workshop, children will get acquainted with clay and each will make their own cup. They will learn the pinching technique of clay and make one or two cups. They will also have the option to add a handle to the cup and decorate it with engobes. The finished products will later be glazed by the team at Center Rog and will be ready for pickup within one month.

The workshop is suitable for children aged 8 to 12 years old. It encourages creativity and manual skills, allows for getting to know clay as a material, and teaches the basics of clay modeling. Children will create functional items that can be used daily.

About the mentors:

The workshop will be led by Ines Polončič, who graduated from the Faculty of Education in Ljubljana and later specialized in traditional Slovenian pottery techniques and decorative arts.

Brigita Gantar leads the glass and ceramics lab at Center Rog. She is a graduate designer of unique items and in her work, she explores handbuilding techniques of clay shaping, casting, and molding clay in molds. In glass design, she focuses on glass casting and cold working techniques.
